To Yoga Nidra Foundations

This course is entirely asynchronous - self-guided at your own pace!

This week you have two videos, one audio lecture, two Yoga Nidra practices, PDFs of the Yoga Nidra scripts, your Yoga Nidra Reflection Journal, and a planner for your personal use.

To get the most out of this week…

  • Watch the Course Overview and Week One video

  • Print off the Reflection Journal and Planner

  • Plan how often you will practice Yoga Nidra and which recordings you will use. Initially, please use the recordings provided. More recordings are available in future weeks. After you at least try the recordings available, you are welcome to practice other Yoga Nidra recordings. (Remember to choose specifically Yoga Nidra recordings! We are learning this particular approach to meditation.)

  • Every time you do a Yoga Nidra practice, complete a Journal Reflection

Writing Yoga Nidra Scripts

Hello yogis,

With your Writing Yoga Nidra Scripts handout, this lengthy talk will hopefully help you shape your future scripts.

It also occurred to me that you could look at the scripts I provided you and adapt them. So you don’t need to copy and paste, but rather ask yourself the question, “What does this line do? What is its function? And then answer that question in your own words.

You are also welcome to use my scripts for delivering Yoga Nidra.

Live Workshop

On Saturday, May 15th, 2021 our live Zoom gathering runs from 9 AM - 1 PM EST. The invitation is at the bottom of this post.

Our program runs completely asynchronously (self-guided at your own pace) until this session. The emphasis of this program is on establishing a practice and making connections between structure, content and effect.

Our workshop will focus on writing Yoga Nidra scripts. Whether you decide to write your own Yoga Nidra scripts or not, this will help you synthesize the information in the course to understand the cause and effect (karma!) of practice structure and practice outcome.

The workshop will include a decent break midway through for folks to move, eat, etc.

If you are unable to attend the workshop, it will be recorded and posted for you.

  • Keep doing your Yoga Nidra practices multiple times a week.

  • Choose at least 2 practices (please make one a longer one, 30 minutes or so), complete a practice reflection journal, and then take notes on what Stages of Yoga Nidra were included and observations on how they expressed them
